Poll: New Yorkers like Bloomberg as mayor, not as president
NEW YORK, July 25 (Xinhua) -- New Yorkers appear to love Michael Bloomberg as mayor but not as president of the United States, according to the latest Quinnipiac poll released Wednesday.
The poll found that the mayor's approval rating remains very high - at 73 percent. But, if he ran for president, only 34 percent of those polled said they would definitely or probably vote for him.
A total of 57 percent of those polled said they probably or definitely would not vote for Bloomberg.
But most New Yorkers like seeing Bloomberg in the national spotlight. Fifty-three percent say all the talk of Bloomberg running for the White House is good for the city.
Quinnipiac polling institute surveyed almost 1,200 New York City registered voters last week. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.8 percent.
