What’s your breakfast?
Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day. As the saying goes, Have a king's breakfast, have a common people's lunch, and a beggar's dinner.
But according to a survey done by Life Style, a Beijing newspaper, most office workers don't follow this advice and instead avoid breakfast and have big dinner.
What do they have for breakfast?
Example 1: Sandwich made with an egg, a slice of ham, a tomato slice and some cheese.
Example 2: A Chinese traditional stuffed bun with a bowl of porridge
Example 3: Chinese pancake from peddler
Example 4: KFC breakfast
Example 5: Soybean milk and deep-fried fluffy dough sticks from Yonghe King Restaurant
Those are the breakfast descriptions of some office workers who participated in the survey.
But breakfast cannot be a last minute decision. You don’t have to spend too much on it, but have as much nutritious food as you can.
Some people prefer a western breakfast over a traditional Chinese one.
What’s the difference?
German style breakfast: fried egg, vegetable or fruit salad and sausage or bacon.
American style breakfast: hamburger, milk, fruits and cereal.
Italian style breakfast: coffee, croissant, pasta and nuts.
Japanese style breakfast: milk, rice, pickles and miso soup.
For traditional Japanese breakfast, rice and miso soup are necessary. But today, most office workers don’t want to spend too much time on breakfast, so they choose bread and milk.
