Bolivia, Iran sign documents to boost ties(1)
LIMA, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Bolivia and Iran signed a series of documents on Thursday in La Paz, Bolivia's administrative capital, after the two countries decided to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties, news reaching here said.
The documents, three memorandums of understanding, one framework accord and a joint declaration, were ratified by the two countries after Mahmud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian president, arrived at the Bolivian El Alto city midday Thursday.

President Ahmadinejad and his Bolivian counterpart Evo Morales called the visit a turning point in bilateral ties and emphasized the need for further cooperation.
The Three memorandums and the framework accord aimed to promote bilateral cooperation in energy and industry.
The two presidents also signed a joint declaration, which underscores their willingness and commitment to promote political actions to build a multi-polar world to guarantee a balanced and democratic international relationship.
The joint declaration also highlights the rights of developing countries to develop nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
Ahmadinejad was greeted by President Morales and thousands of Bolivians who gathered in front of the presidential palace in La Paz.
"I wish you a happy stay in this beloved Bolivian country," Morales told Ahmadinejad, according to information from La Paz.
